The article about applying for an early years job can be found here. It has a list of questions that candidates might expect. Perhaps you could use some of those!

Look at the person spec and job description - what are the skills/experience you are asking for? This should inform your questions. Its also useful to have a considered set of possible/acceptable responses if you are having a panel, so that discussions about who gets job are a bitmore objective. We used to have a 0 - 3 scoring system too, 0= answer didn't show anything to 3 = full and rounded answer showing good skill/knowledge etc etc. You need to be careful not to demonstrate bias if there are several people. Also then you can offer realistic feedback about what it was they didn't do to get the job so they can develop those skills etc.
