SLIMBRIDGE Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 I am going to start work on 'The Gruffalo' with my class next week. I have found loads of fab ideas (many from searching this forum!) but i need an exciting way to start off. I was thinking about having a letter from a local resident saying a strange creature had been spotted in the woods nearby and could the children work out what it is.... By the end of the day we could have worked out from clues what it was (so they didn't go home and have nightmares!). Not quite sure how to go about it though and wondered if anyone else has any good ideas?
Fredbear Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 Hi SLIMBRIDGE Our local country park has a Gruffalo in their woods at the moment, so lots of lovely opportunities to start them off. Not sure if your area has something similar.
finleysmaid Posted February 17, 2012 Posted February 17, 2012 oh our gruffalo at pre-school escaped!!!(perhaps its the one in the woods?) we came in to find a warning sign...with his description so we knew what we were looking for....we found him hiding in the garden amoungst the trees ...we had to look quite hard for him. Then there were lots of games with people choosing to be the gruffalo (including a version of whats the time Mr wolf!)
