Guest Posted June 28, 2005 Share Posted June 28, 2005 Please can someone help me? I manage a neighbourhood nursery and it is in a Rollalong building (Put up in a day made out of metal and wood!) In this very hot weather we are all cooking inside and some times it is too hot to go outside. We strip our babies down to nappies, pull the curtains across and have fans on but yesturday the temperature crept up to a frightening 31.5 degrees! I have tried to see if there is a maximum temp. to operate but cannot find an actual legal stipulation. We have a similar problem and I also cannot find any legal requirements for max temp for children and babies in the nursery. Our director has not got round to getting blinds for the main room although the baby room does have curtanins to pull. We told her last year when the heat was unbearable in there that we needed curtains or blinds but at the time she said as the windows were so big she couldn't afford them then but promised them for this year. Surprise surprise we are still waiting! As well as doing what you are doing we have also been filling up paddling pools for the kids to splash in and constant juices but we can't do much more.
