Guest
Hi everyone, I'm opening a nursery in September (very scary and exciting) and was wondering if anyone had some suggestions for marketing? We have so far placed ads in local papers/magazines, leafleted the area, gone to mother and toddler groups and had open days and stay and play mornings. Once parents come and see the nursery they seem to love it, it's just getting them here in the first place that we're finding difficult! Any help would be much appreciated. eyfs1966
Families magazine (if you have a local one), LEA site for parents, ie Families Information Service and also contact LEA for inclusion in their "choosing a nursery place" guide. Also a banner outside might attract passing trade.
Fredbear
The library, doctors and health centres, children's centre. We have a advert up in our only post office situated in the town,[ did have to pay but its large, very professional and very prominent. Are their any fetes, fundays, NCT events coming up where you could have a stall. What about contacting the local press, "New Nursery opens" with pics. Local schools, churches, extended service building if you have one. Have you placed yourself on the childrens information service section with your local authority. One of the things we take part in each year and gives us great publicity and a fantastic time is the local carnival. You have probably done all of these but if not hope it helps, Good luck with your new venture.
Guest
If you can put a vinyl banner outside your Pre School the community will know that your there and also know how to contact you. We opened last September and I think our banner alone brought in about 20 families into the pre school. www.vistaprint.co.uk quite often have good deals but so may a local printer. Guest
Thank you for all of your great ideas. We do have a large banner outside but don't get much passing foot traffic which is unfortunate. I'll definitely get in touch with the local press, we need to get the word out!
Guest
A good website is essential. So many people look for a Nursery by searching google or other search engines. See if you can link into a local community website for your town/village. Good luck !
