Guest Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Hi, I work at a large infant school in Shirebrook, Derbyshire. We are very lucky in that we have a lot a land. We have a large foundation stage (about 50 nursery morning and afternoon, and 65 reception). We have already developed our inside space; zoning our rooms into the 6 areas of learning where children can self-select resources. We plan to do the same outside. We have a large area separate from the rest of the school with trees, grass, tarmac and 2 sheltered verandas. We plan to develop the outside area over the coming months and myself and another member of the FS teaching staff have been appointed as 'leaders' for this. We are looking to visit some setting where the outside space is used effectively. Could your settling be suitable or do you know of one within the country (or close by)? Thank you
Cait Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 Sounds like you are incredibly lucky! We've a really small sloping grassed area with a sloping concrete path and a couple of flowerbeds
Guest Posted March 3, 2011 Posted March 3, 2011 It's not very close by you but you can arrange to visit the Wingate Children's Centre in County Durham. Their outdoor area is fantastic!
