emmajess
My class is doing an assembly in a couple of weeks on the theme of Spring, lots of lovely bits planned... just looking for a spring song. Does anyone know a good one? Thank you! Emma x
Cait
One dainty daffodil makes its way through Up pops another one and that makes two. Two dainty daffodils nodding by a tree Up pops another one and that makes three Three dainty daffodils, what a golden score, Up pops another one and that makes four Four dainty daffodils, glad to be alive Up pops another one and that makes five. Five dainty daffodils, smiling at the sun Someone comes and picks a bunch Now there are none!

Along came the gardener on a bright sunny day, She picked a yellow daffodil and took it right away. And so on to zero! We sing it to the tune of 5 little ducks went swimming one day. Cait
Very nice Is that a song or a rhyme Cait? It's actually a rhyme that my Mum taught me when I was in her Nursery class many moons ago! (almost half a century) but there's no reason you couldn't make up some sort of tune quick edit to add that she learned it from HER Mum's nursery class!!! Cait, I'm going to read yours to the children too. I'd love to hear the rest of yours, killowengirl!
shazzam
I'm a spring chicken! I'm yellow and small. My feathers are fluffy and they're keeping me warm. My legs are not long, so I'll never be tall, But I'm a real spring chicken and I'm having a ball! (Chicken I'm a chicken and I'm a having a ball!) we just sing this bit of the song (which is the chorus) i expect if you look on youtube you could get the tune. we also sing (a bit more summery): tune- she'll be coming round the mountain The Tiny Caterpillar There’s a tiny caterpillar on a leaf (WIGGLE WIGGLE) There’s a tiny caterpillar on a leaf (WIGGLE WIGGLE), There’s a tiny caterpillar, there’s a tiny caterpillar, A tiny caterpillar on a leaf (WIGGLE WIGGLE). He will eat the leaves around him till he’s full (MUNCH MUNCH) He will eat the leaves around him till he’s full (MUNCH MUNCH), He will eat the leaves around him, eat the leaves around him, Eat the leaves around him till he’s full (MUNCH MUNCH). A cocoon is what he’s spinning for his home (SPIN SPIN) A cocoon is what he’s spinning for his home (SPIN SPIN) A cocoon is what he’s spinning, cocoon is what he’s spinning, A cocoon is what he’s spinning for his home (SPIN SPIN). He will be a butterfly and fly away (FLAP FLAP) He will be a butterfly and fly away (FLAP FLAP) He will be a butterfly, be a butterfly, Be a butterfly and fly away (FLAP FLAP)
