Guest Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Hi Can anyone tell me -what qualifications creche staff must have? -what is the staffing ratios in creches? -who are creches accountable to? Thank you Carmen Quote
Inge Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 think we need more information on what you class as a creche.. hours children attend - under 2 hours or over.. ages of children, the answer will be different depending on the situation.. under 2 hours I believe is no need to register and not sure who would regulate it if anyone... over this and then Ofsted becomes involved... with all the same regulations as any early years setting. mundia Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 Hi Carmen. As Inge said, it depends on what you are providing. This information will tell you whether or not you need to register with OFSTED. Can you tell us a little more about you plans? Quote
Guest Posted February 18, 2011 Posted February 18, 2011 HI, Sorry I didn't know it would depend on time attended. The plans aren't mine, but 'they' intend it to be for babies and children of all ages who could possibly attend more than 2 hours a week. It would be free. Thanks. I will look at the link now. Quote
marshie Posted February 23, 2011 Posted February 23, 2011 Hi Can anyone tell me -what qualifications creche staff must have? -what is the staffing ratios in creches? -who are creches accountable to? Thank you Carmen Hi carmen i am a supervisor of a creche which is part of a family centre as part of a school i go with the usual ratios of 1to 2 onder 2 and 1to 4 between 2an4 and 1to 8 over 3. my max in my creche is thirteen due to size of space. I am informed that staff have to have a level 2 or above. in order to supervise you need to have a level three. As a creche i am accountable to the school liason officer and the head teacher. I will be inspected as part of the school by ofsted as i am on schoo; premises. I hope this had s helped you with some of your quistions about creches Mardhie Quote
Guest Posted February 26, 2011 Posted February 26, 2011 Thank you for your help. I have printed off the Ofsted exemptions and noted the ratios you mentioned. It has proved to me that 'they' haven't really thought this through! Quote
