Guest Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Ok next week we are going to start a mini theme on goldilocks and the three bears as the children are loving retelling stories at the moment. I want to make some oaty dough for them to play with - how am I going to do this - do I just add oats to the normal play dough mixture is should I do it differently - I am hopeless at things like this so your help would be appreciated!

Can't comment from experience as I have never made oaty dough. I did just google 'oat dough' though and lots of recipes came up. Some had ingredients you wouldn't need such as yeast etc but if it were me doing it for the first time I think I would follow a simple recipe. sorry not much help but didn't want to read and run
Cait Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Try it and see - it might be interesting what you get - and if you do it with the children it will be a learning experience for everyone

Guest Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 Wish I'd known about oaty dough! Last week we had dry porridge in one mod pod and water in the other, different sized bowls etc in the builders tray for mixing........was great fun and very engaging but a nightmare to clean, it ended up in the lovely new country kitchen!!!
Guest Posted February 6, 2011 Posted February 6, 2011 we just add warm water to oats in a trough and it makes a sticky dough all by itself and smells wonderful
