Guest
My class have become fascinated by castles and the middle ages. I was hoping to be able to play them some music from this period, but I don't seem to be able to find any. I'm looking for the sort of music which sounds medieval (does that make sense, using the old instruments like hurdy gurdys and things!) but I can't seem to find any online. Anyone know of any sites with music like this?
HappyMaz
How about Past Times? It sounds just like the sort of thing they'd have. Wonder if they have a website?
HappyMaz
Past Times seems to have gone a bit mainstream, however I found the Plainson and Medieval Music Society who offer downloadable sheet music here. And also a Scottish medieval music ensemble who have CDs for sale here. Hope that helps. Maz
Guest
Have you tried the Singup website? There are some Tudor songs on there that have some medieval instruments playing on them, including Greensleeves and Henry's Happy Hour (which is a fab song). If you go into the Songbank and look under History you can find them. I am thinking about looking at Castles soon with my class so would be v interested to hear what else you've been doing!
