Guest
Not very inspiring really but we got some green fabirc to lay on the floor, got some bug houses, twigs, leaves etc and hid plastic mini beasts in there - got some green netting to make hidy places and gave them magnifying glasses, microscopes minibeast checklists and clipbaords and cameras to go on hunts. we also thought about adding ant farms, wormery etc but never got around to it! ems

galcom
We have a minibeast zoo. The minibeasts can be sorted, the children can make labels for where they go in the zoo. We added information books and picture cards, rubber gloves for handling the (pretend) minibeasts. The roles are staff members/minibeast experts, zoo visitors, someone on the helpdesk and till. Posters and tickets can be made, we used shelves, netting and hung a green net with compartments in from ikea to home the minibeasts. The children love being minibeast experts and there are lots of assessment opportunities in there. This week it costs 10p each to get in. Last week it cost 2p. We change the minibeasts each week depending on the focus. We made maps too. Oh and in the homecorner we packed picnics to take to the zoo. Hope that helps.
