Guest Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 As part of our all about me/good to be me theme I would like to give the chn a camera to take home to take photos of specific things at home. I know some schools have sent home disposable cameras for each child but has anyone used a 'real' camera? Can anyone who has experienced either please let me know the positivies/negatives? Have a 'chunk' of money to use and not sure what the best way forward is.
Guest LornaW Posted March 16, 2010 Posted March 16, 2010 I am sure the trust you put in your families will be rewarded not only by careful use of the camera but by some great photographs. In Pen Green they send home a video camera and families video their children and then they discuss them together in the centre it is a wonderful way of involving families. Just make sure you have a sturdy camera that is not too fiddley for young or old hands would be my advice. Lorna
Guest Posted March 18, 2010 Posted March 18, 2010 this is something we now want to extend. we use learning stories but find the parents dont add photos, some dont have a camera others cant afford to print so will send one home and we will print them off for them to then stick in
Rea Posted March 19, 2010 Posted March 19, 2010 We used to send the disposable ones home. The downside is that some children, and parents, dont know when to stop clicking so find cheap disposables, they still produce good photos.
