Hi everyone,

In my next set of plans I am down to investigate the properties of 2d and 3d shapes with my children. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas of how to make this exciting and interesting with children? I've seen the 'shape detective' idea work quite well - anyone have any suggestions for any others? I've been trying to think of ideas that tie into my topic of weather???

Thanks very much :o

Hi,

We have been covering 2d and 3d shapes recently. Yesterday we went on a shape walk, which involved the children spotting shapes and being a shape detective. We also played a shape hunt game. I hid lots of shapes in the playground ad the children had to find them and sort them into 2 groups (2d and 3d) and describe their properties. These ides are linking maths to outside area, not sure how u can tie this in with weather? x
