Tink69
Hi I am curious to what other childminders charge for school children in the holidays, I am trying to think ahead for the summer holidays as have been told my local cc may be using childminders instead of putting on a holiday scheme. Upsy Daisy
I charge the same hourly rate for all children. The only exception is that I charge double before 8.00am and after 6.00pm.
Tink69
Thanks Upsy Daisy thats what I currently do but I have seen on here that others charge a lot more for older children. Tink69
Upsy Daisy
Yes I saw that too. Interestingly I also know childminders who charge less for older children because they are easier to care for and you can have more of them. I'm not sure I agree with that principle which is why I charge a flat rate and put the same amount of effort into providing a caring, stimulating environment for all the children on my books. k@ren
Hi, I do charge less but wouldn't do so again in the future (should I get any enquiries that is!). At the moment I charge £20.00 for hours between 9.00 and 5.00 and £3.00 per hour before/after. I also charge extra for food. In future though I will charge my normal hourly fee - which would be £3.25/£3.50 per hour.
