I haven't heard this Claire - I know the Government has an aspiration that every practitioner should have a Level 3 by 2015, but I haven't seen it written anywhere that unqualified staff can't count in ratio.

Will be interested to see if anyone else has!

Hi Maz, it could just be me imagining it again, I have found this, which talks about ratios and training to be achieved by 2012, will have to go and check it out.

I read it that to count as qualified you must have the relevant qualification by 2012, but otherwise you can still have qualified and unqualified staff (50/50 currently) otherwise settings would never be able to afford to take on unqualified staff with a view to training, if they didn't count in the ratios
