Does anyone use a scheme of work for PE? At my last school the PE coordinator took each year group for PE. I have just started PE two weeks ago with my new Nursery group...so far we have been doing simple safety things, stopping when asked, changing direction and making interesting shapes with our bodies. Does anyone know where i can get ideas/plans/scheme from?

thank you muchly.

We use the Val Sabin book and cd for pe, dance etc. It costs about £50 but is worth every penny with ideas for warm ups, activities and cool downs.

You can find the websitehere.

We also have the Kidsmusiceducation books and cds. They are not a scheme of work but have some lovely songs and actions to go with them. Their website is here.

me too Val Sabin for gymnastics, dance and games. I even went on Val's course for dance last year...a real inspiration! Very easy to follow and can then go right through the school.

We use Action Kids 500. It has planning for topic work, eg colours, ourselves and shape amongst many. The book is divided up into areas, warm up, spatial awareness, activities leading to gymnastics, games and dance, and calming down. The book comes supplied with a tape and a CD. There is also a comprehensive Teaching Guide at the start.

Everything really that you could need.
