I am planning constructing a fire pit and using it but not till next term or later I am afraid, so haven't got round to writing risk assessments. Rea Posted October 31, 2009 Share Posted October 31, 2009 If I was doing this I'd think about my own experiences. Keep a bucket or two of water nearby. Dont put the hot end of the stick into your hand! Make toast from a distance to prevent it setting alight. Stand down wind of the smoke. Check you have no over hanging vegetation or timber buildings nearby! Inform the neighbours before hand My friend had the firefighters at her door because the neighbours though she had a fire!!
