Seeing The Funny Side!

An example of "you have to laugh or else you'll cry"...

The local Early Years Team were offering observations, assessment & planning training for childminders and would be providing us each with a copy of The Toolkit to use.

60 people attended 6.30 to 9p.m, on a lovely warm evening.

3 EY trainers and 3 Network co-ordinators....

So, we watch the video, complete the observation sheet, take part in the discussions and 15 minutes before the end of the course, they give out the Toolkits...........

Yep, you guessed it.. NOT ENOUGH TO GO ROUND!! xD

6 very embarrassed EY staff, 60 fed up childminders and a near riot.

They were asked how they'd got it wrong - we'd all booked, e-mailed/phoned to confirm attendance as required and signed in on arrival?

No answers, no excuses, an apology and an assurance that they'd post the Toolkits out (still waiting!)

By co-incidence they had no feedback forms for us to complete either SO we filled in one of their obs/assess/plan pro-formas

and linked it to the 6 areas of learning, planning to work on PSRN in particular!!

Not quite the training I thought I'd get but strangely entertaining :o

Wonder what their "reflecting on practice" was like the next morning!?

Does this only happen in Dudley?

Love it! I'll bet there were some very red faces indeed!

What a brilliant idea!

Now you need to ask to see a copy of their SEF!
