Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me please, my manager and I (deputy) would like to start a more formal way of monioring our rooms within the nursery. We would like to observe to evaluate and monitor the practice of all staff and to see how smoothly the rooms run - we can then plan improvements, highlight concerns and see where things are working well.

 

Does any one else do these sort of observations and if so how often and in what format ???

 

I'm not sure if this is too 'big brother' but we have some concerns about some members of staff (team leaders organisation and planning mostly) and would like to see practice in those rooms. Hope this makes sense,

I do observe my staff, and write it down to go through with them. It's usually a positive experience for us - any 'negatives' are discussed and worked round.
