The International Ice Campaign

Hi all - this may be something you are already aware of - I thought it was such a sensible idea that I thought I would share it with you..........

We all carry our mobile phones with names and numbers stored - if we were to be involved in an accident or were suddenly taken ill, the people attending us would have our mobile phones but wouldn't know who to call. So........long story, short!

The concept of ICE - this is apparently recognised by emergency teams.

so........ add ICE numbers to your 'phone.....e.g.

ICE 1 (number) Sunnyday's husband

ICE 2 (number) Sunnyday's son

clearly ... in this example the phone belongs to Sunnyday.

By doing this the 'rescuers' will know who they are calling when they dial the numbers. They will not know their names but they will know the 'patient's' name and their relationship to the 'patient'

I will be encouraging my family members to do this.

Thanks for that reminder Sunnyday. I think this has come up before but some time ago after the July 05 incidents in London.

Its certainly something I haven't done and need to think about seriously.

Thanks for this sunnyday - have always made sure my ICE numbers at work etc were uptodate but never thought about storing them on my phone. I know the police look for the 'Home' or 'House' numbers when looking through a mobile phone but hadn't thought to include the ICE numbers on the phone. Living on my own, I hadn't thought about the fact that they wouldn't get a reply if they called there or used my address from DVLA.

Thanks again for this and I will spread the word.

Lxx
