Steiner School

Hi, was hoping for some input in a foundation degree research project I undertaking

am looking at how television especially superhero play effects childrens behaviour and play - under the EYFS we need to play and let children follow their interests etc.

I understand the the philosophy of the Steiner schools are that dvd tvs computer technology effect children's senses and desrupts their capacity to benefit on their holistic education.

Does anyone working or having a child within a Steiner school see any difference in their play to their peers who attend a different school, or do the children still play aggressive fighting type games, or gun games or save the world type games.

Thank You

Hi

Funny you should have chosen this topic

Last year my reception intake was from 8 different settings 16 children.I child came from the Steiner nursery in the local village.Lovely setting all natural materials and holistic ,all working to tidy up and singing, stories etc myself and my TA visit all the settings and talk to the practitioners etc.

A lovely little boy

He is the one who is fixated on Power rangers...he is the one who wants stickers and needs rewards....to be honest I was really surprised .I wonder if its because he was 'surpressed' from all this outside influence at the nursery?

How very interesting Tinkerbell - sounds like a research project in itself!
