Guest Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 I am being observed soon for my performance management (I hate being observed and get really nervous about the whole thing) and wondered if anyone had any good ideas for an outdoor active learning activity. Thanks
Cait Posted April 24, 2009 Posted April 24, 2009 My children really enjoyed a sticking activity where I gave them all a sheet of a4 card and a pot of pva glue and they went round finding things to make a collage. Bits of leaf, some petals, twigs (Hmm, and a poor caterpillar I recall) They looked fabulous and we pegged them to the trellis to dry and they looked really effective. It depends on what age the children are, what your space is like and what the weather's like, If it's sunny then painting a path with water is always good fun and if it's wet then something in puddles is good, windy then streamers and scarves are fun. Have you got a theme or anything going at the moment, or are the children engaged on an interest you could tie in? Outdoors as a learning area is just an extension of indoors in some respects, so you shouldn't feel that it's something you need to plan differently for, other than the variability of the weather.
