velvet Posted March 11, 2009 Posted March 11, 2009 A friend of mine who is also a childminder has been asked to provide overnight care for a child who she has minded for a few months now due to changes in parents shifts. As long as Ofsed will let her be registered for this she is wondering how much to charge. I don't know of anyone who does over night minding so thought I would ask you knowledgeable lot as someone normally has an answer. Thanking you in advance
Guest Posted March 14, 2009 Posted March 14, 2009 Hello. I have read this post, but dont have any experience of overnight care. I have two thoughts. One is that if the parent has to do these shifts regularly, cant afford to pay any more than the usual hourly fee. I would also assume to be asleep and as long as the child is safely asleep wouldnt be any extra work. The other thought is that it is unsociable hours, so maybe warrants extra hourly rate. I can honestly say I am unsure!
velvet Posted March 14, 2009 Author Posted March 14, 2009 Those are exactly the same thought my friend and me were trying to figure out, thanks anyway
