Guest kelh81
Hi, I'm due to be observed tomorrow by the head and I'm wondering whether I should do a whole class plenary. I don't usually do one as I do it through group work- I find that it is much more meaningful as links directly with the particular groups level. Plus the lesson will continue after play time through group work as I won't have time to work with every child in the time she is there. The head has said, informally, in the past that she knows most teachers usually only do plenaries when they are being watched! I'm just wondering if I'm brave enough to not do one- what do you think? Cait
Could you do one at the end of the morning? Kind of a circle chat about their morning, and a bit of 'show and tell' ?
queline
I think if you are feeling brave and you can justify that you do them through group work at a differentiated level then go for it! Good luck Qx
Susan
If its not appropriate to your lesson structure then dont do it but could you make reference in some way to it while she is there if she wont see a group plenary?
MrsL
I would just make it clear on my planning that what I am saying at the end of my group work is actually my plenary. Good luck
