Individual Planning

Hello

I was just wondering how you all cater for the Unique Child! I know we need to observe children and then plan activities that satisfy their interests but how do you record this.

Do you identify names on Continuous Provision Sheets? Do you write individual plans?

We are about the try these two sheets. Please what do you think?

Thanks for reading x

I think they look great. The CP one is really comprehensive - I really like the way that you have listed in detail all these areas of CP - it looks like your provide a very stimulating and fun environment for your children :o . The table looks really nice as well. My only thought was that there might not be enough room to write in things, especially if you vary them through the week- an alternative option would be to list the CP down one side in a column. You could always try it as it is though and see how you get on.

I also really liked your individual plan, an think it is great that you are obviously working so closely with parents. My only thought was again space, and whether you wanted to state the EYFS learning areas as a guide somewhere on the form.

Any way good luck with your forms, it would be good to find out how you get on with them

Oh Cait I am thrived you are using it. Yes I did up load it a while ago!!!!!

We are aiming for each cycle to take three weeks.

Wk 1 - introduce new activities and observe

Wk 2 - extend the activities, observe and evaluate

Wk 3 - consolidate, evaluate and plan the next steps

The individual plans will also slot into the learning journey as evidence

The staff are keen and we start on Monday. I can't wait to see how it goes.

Thanks for your replies x

Scuse me being thick tho - not managed to work out what STC is! probably something really obvious!

Oh and P.S. You may want to change 'Key Workers' to 'Key Persons' as EYFS seems to prefer it

STC is Somerset Total Communication a form of communicating using symbols and signs. So we introduce these every few weeks e.g. thumb up for hello etc.

Thanks for the "Key Persons" note too.
