Guest
If you cann't think of anything to fit into your topic planning you should refer to your long term plans and objectives.
Guest
Hi rocket - can't help you on the specific topic of Changing Materials (it is Friday afternoon and I'm a little brain wary) but I found this on the web which might help http://www.sln.org.uk/science/foundation/D...20the%20ELG.doc Denise
Guest
Any cooking activities are good for changing materials - lots of CLL, language development describing things and PSE - waiting till it's your turn to stir the mix, also obvious hygiene issues. Things can be as simple as ice cubes/lollies, chocolate crispy cakes, or cakes. Basic, but valid. Sorry, but a bit late for my brain to think further. Harricroft. Guest
you could use reading recipe cards and sequencing the stages, discussing the materials, seen, touched and smelt would cover aspects of lit. What about making books giving instructions. Can't hink anymore now.
catma
Take photos and write captions, vocabulary of different properties of materials: hard/rough/soft/stiff/pliable etc etc, Vocab of changes: solid/liquid/hot cold, maybe opposites as well? Making butter recipe here!! It's good fun!!
