Sue R Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Well. thank you all. My Mum is going home tomorrow!!! Obviously, things will be different for Mum and Dad, but they'll be coping in their own home. - I can't think of the words to thank you ALL for all the amazing support you've given me. Still dumb. So, well, just huge thanks - I know I'm never alone, now. Thank you all again Sue Quote
Lorna Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Thats excellent news... I really pleased for you all Quote
Susan Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Fantastic hope all goes well Sue, no doubt it'll be alittle strange for your mum and dad at first but not too traumatic. Take care. Quote
Guest Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 You're a saint SueR. I can't cope with my parents for more than an afternoon at a time. We spent a whole weekend with them last week and it's taken me a week to get over it! I sound like a terrible daugther and it's true, I am!! D Quote
Rea Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Thats great news Sue, really pleased for all of you. I'm afraid I'm with Mouse though, 1 afternoon with my mom talking and talking....and I take myself off to bed for a nap. Quote
Sue R Posted September 26, 2004 Author Posted September 26, 2004 Well... Just picture yourself there... - Sorry, but try it! Love you all. Sue Quote
Helen Posted September 26, 2004 Posted September 26, 2004 Brilliant, Sue, We're so pleased for you Quote
Guest Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 That is really great Sue. Have a great day today then!! Quote
Guest Posted September 27, 2004 Posted September 27, 2004 That's really great news Sue!!!!!! My Mum is still going strong, I swear she'll outlive me!!!!! As a family, I have always thought we all dealt with things really well and could talk about it, but checking my son's homework (he has just started high school, lost his tie, broken trouser zips, lost pencil cases etc) one evening I came across his his "introduction to Me" In it he wrote about being ordinary, he wanted a pet, mum spends her nighs on her laptop (how dare he!!!!, not every night!!!!) and his dad goes to the gym. His Gran is strange because she calls him names like Fred, Cheese or Graham ( it's a stroke thing, that's what was affected, names!!) and Grandad has an incurable disease where he falls down a lot!!!!! It brought a tear to my eye. Needless to say he is in bed, that's why I am on the net, and I have spent £90 on a tank of fish as a pet, which he is overfeeding with gusto. We are close, don't get me wrong, he didn't tell Dad about the things he'd lost, but after his attempt at sex education last year I don't blame him!!!! Jambo Quote
Beau Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 Sorry Sue, Haven't been on the site for a couple of days but I'm back in action now. Hope your mum is well ensconced back in her home now - let us know how she gets on. Quote
Sue R Posted September 28, 2004 Author Posted September 28, 2004 I most certainly will!! Probably bore you all to death, but, hey! that's what friends are for! Her first comment to me was - " Just had my first proper meal for 13 weeks" - not a fan of hospital food, my Mum!!! Sue Quote
Guest Posted September 28, 2004 Posted September 28, 2004 SueR....sorry I didn't realise your mum had been in hosiptal. I thought she had been staying with you I got the completely wrong end of the stick. It makes my earlier comment seem very insensitive for which I apologize. Denise Quote
Sue R Posted September 28, 2004 Author Posted September 28, 2004 No problem, Denise!! If you want the whole gory story, try the thread 'Need a Hug' in Lounge/Golden Time See you, Sue Quote
Sue R Posted September 28, 2004 Author Posted September 28, 2004 Sorry about the backwards link, but at least it works!!! Sue Quote
