Guest Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 I wonder if anyone could help me please my teacher has been on an observation today and on the teachers planning there was an abbreviation GTEP or something similar. The class teacher was unable to explain other than it had something to do with inclussion possibly? I'm not even sure that it's right but just wondered if anyone had a clue? Cheers A very confussed Vicky!!!
Guest Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 ummmm. GTP (Graduate Teacher Programme) ? Would that make sense?? This is my kind of quiz!!
JacquieL Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 It makes sense to me Tattybogle. Graduate Teacher Education Programme is all I can think of.
Guest Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Defo not GTP have a great GTP student Though! It was a phonics observation so I am not thinking science may not even have the abbreviation right knowing me! Derrr
Guest Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Gatsby Technical Education Projects maybe? Marion I am sure your middle or surname must be Google. (if not you should at least have shares in the Google empire). Peggy
Susan Posted November 19, 2008 Posted November 19, 2008 Could it have been GTPR? Grapheme to phoneme representation? Although Ive no idea if there is such an abbreviation but seems to fit with phonics?
JacquieL Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 The trouble with abbreviations is there are so many and it is difficult to remember them all. I googled it as well Peggy, as the only one I know was the Graduate Teacher Education Programme, and just loved some of the answers: one was for a literacy scheme in Poland and another a literacy programme for Indian tribes, so they don't seem applicable here.
Guest Wolfie Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 GTEP - Give Them Extra Phonics Or Give Them Extra Pudding??!! That would go down better!
Guest Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Only the staff of course! Thanks these suggestions are great I think the phonics related one fits best although how can you have something on your planning which you don't understand? How can that be effective planning and teaching?
Guest Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Got the official one now it's GARP and has something to do with Racial inclussion
HappyMaz Posted November 20, 2008 Posted November 20, 2008 Got the official one now it's GARP and has something to do with Racial inclussion Or possibly referring to the film of the book "Life according to Garp" starring Robin Williams! Maz
