emmajess Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 Really silly, basic question, but do you call your malleable area 'malleable ara' with the children and do they refer to it by this name? And do you explain to children what malleable means? I only ask because I've finally managed to fit a separate malleable area into my classroom, rather than it just being a feature of the messy table, and I just feel malleable is a bit of a tricky word - maybe it's just me!
Guest Wolfie Posted September 3, 2008 Posted September 3, 2008 It's NOT a silly question - the only silly question is the one that you don't ask! I've never referred to it as the malleable area but there's no reason why you shouldn't - children like getting their tongue round new words and will soon get used to it...and it's also broadening their vocabulary along the way!
Inge Posted September 4, 2008 Posted September 4, 2008 no matter what you call it our children call it playdough.. even when its other stuff there.. so we kept it as such...
