Hi -

Although there has been lots of discussion and a few pages and menu items, as well as an email newsletter created to try to make people aware of the site changes, I'm still getting a few puzzled emails from people who aren't sure why they can't access the whole site any more, so this item is for anyone who is still unsure of what is happening:

At the same time as the site re-launch a month ago, since when you will hopefully have noticed a big change in the site appearance and functionality, we introduced a subscription charge for full access to the site. This is explained more fully here, or you can also read various pages in the 'About Us' menu item at the top left of any page.

We gave members a month to look round the site and see what they thought of the new look and new content before committing themselves. However, that month is now over, and only subscribing members can now access the full range of features, although much of the content and topics remain available to those choosing not to take out a paid subscription. (If you would like to do so, existing members can take out an annual subscription for £20 by clicking here).

Non subscribers will find the following features are no longer available:

* They cannot post replies to topics or start their own.

* Certain forums will no longer be available - particularly the lounge/golden time forum

* Members articles are now only available to subscribers, including extra resources such as Recipes, NVQ training articles, and others planned over the coming months

* Only subscribers may now use the PM and email facilities.

* The personalised areas of the site, such as MY FSF, and setting of avatars, personal pictures and signatures are restricted to subscribers.

As mentioned elsewhere, the reasons for these changes are to enable the Foundation Stage Forum to remain available and develop as a professional resource. We receive no funding for this site from either government or charity, and the financing of the site cannot be left to the generosity of a small number of members donating voluntarily.

We hope to see you joining with us! :)
