meridian
Hi everyone has anyone put together a drug policy (don't mean medicines etc.) i.e. dealing with needles found in outdoor area etc. because I am in the process of trying to write one! Needs to cover things like parents turning up under the influence. any help would be appreciated, thanks

dublinbay
Don't have a policy as this is dealt with by the caretaker of the primary school in whose grounds we operate. However, I normally spend 10 -15 mins on most Monday mornings sweeping up fag ends, beer bottles and 1 or 2 broken beer bottles left by the no-brainers looking for a sheltered place to booze it up...............and thats only the staff!!!!! ONLY JOKING! Honest!
Inge
Ourr bit about partents under the influence is included in our safeguarding children / child protection policy.. and cleaning up of site is included in health and safety Could you not just ament these to include what you want. Only takes a short paragraph then in each one depending on what you want to include, as said set protocols for disposal of needles so will need more advice on this side Inge
Guest
Seem to remember when it was discussed on here previously it might have been in the context of collection procedures and handovers, for what it's worth!
fizzy
We use the local public park for outside play. In our risk assessment it covers needles. We have to ring the local enviromental health department who will come out and remove. Obviously we dont go if there are any dangers
