Guest
We went to the chinese supermarket today. Every child chose something that they wanted to take back and try. There was a strong smell of incense throughout the shop. As we got to the counter, and the lovely lady greeted us as we went to make our purchases, one of the pre-school girls shouts out: "Can we leave now? It smells absolutely disgusting in here". Bless her - I did manage to surpress my chuckle! Anyhow, it was a great trip, and next month we are off to the pet-shop to find a replacement for our dearly departed hamster. Guest
And it wasn't even your own child embrassing you in a shop!!! We had lychees for snack today.Great tactile experience.Good descriptive words for the outside and inside When H's friend came to the snack table he said "Don't eat that James it's like eating a worm" Thought it was one off until with a different group at the table some said "It feels like a squashed slug" Hope the pancakes go down better tomorrow
Deb
We offered the children tinned lychees last year and got very similar reactions. They are actually rather nice, and adults modelled eating them, but children were put off them by the colour and their slippery texture.

Guest
I'm afraid I wasn't keen although I did eat them myself with appropriate positive facial expressions and noises. My t/a said it looked like a bushtucker challenge if you don't watch I'm a celebrity they looked like kangeroo bits on a plate Not sure if they tasted the same as I've not eaten kangeroo
