  1. Hi, @Glitterstar Thanks for getting in touch. A "group messaging" function is something we are looking into, so I've passed your feedback along to our development team. We will update you here with any developments. Just so you know, Managers on Tapestry are able to view all conversations, even ones between other staff and relatives. While they can't reply within those conversations, they can at least check them. Also, if you did want to send a group message to multiple relatives right now, you can use the Memos feature for this: I hope that helps. Do let me know if you need anything else :)

Best wishes, The Tapestry Team New Articles and Guides We have a new article and new Beginner’s Guide for you this month. This article, collaboratively authored by Tîm Dysgu Creadigol Cymru/Creative Learning Cymru Team, explores how creativity is woven into all aspects of the Welsh Curriculum from the early years onwards. And the “The Beginner’s Guide to Linguistic Justice”, written by Warda Farah and Dr Vishnu Nair, aims to support educators in having necessary conversations about linguistic justice. Rosie’s Final Video It’s the end of an era! We’ve followed Rosie’s development since her very first week and this month she’s turning 3. We’ve all learnt so much from watching Rosie grow up and we hope the series has provided you with some valuable insights into child development. This will be the final instalment of this video series as Rosie has a very important job coming up… Body Maps on iOS We are happy to announce that the ability add body maps to your accident forms is now possible on the iOS app, as well as Android and the browser version. To add a body map, just click the “Add Body Map” button when creating an accident, circle the affected area and “save”. You can order the book here.
  3. Hello and welcome to our July newsletter If you’re considering using Tapestry Online Learning Journal but aren’t yet a customer, take a look at how it can help you transform learning outcomes for children in EYFS right through to Year 6 - click a link below: I work at a Nursery I'm a Childminder I work in Reception I work in a school If you’re already a customer, read on for our latest news and updates, including: Messaging now available Body Maps now available Printed Journals Survey Results iOS app update New CPD Course: An Introduction to Educator Wellbeing An article from Tapestry’s education team Book Pre-orders now open We hope you enjoy catching up on our news, and we always welcome your feedback. Best wishes, The Tapestry Team Messaging Now Available We are excited to announce the arrival of our newest feature: Messaging! Messaging allows you to quickly and securely communicate with other staff and relatives. Messages can be sent and received via the browser, iOS, Android, or Fire app meaning they’re easy to access for all users. Messages must be between two individuals, and at least one of those must be a staff member - so two staff members can use it to talk to each other, but relatives cannot connect with other relatives. Start using Messaging today. Managers can enable this feature from Control Panel -> Features. More information can be found on the feature page. Body Maps Now Available We are also happy to announce you can now add a body map to your accident forms when creating them from the browser or the Android app. When adding your accident form, you’ll now see a blue button for “+ Add Body Map”. Simply circle the affected area and “save”. Reminder: Printed Journals As we near the end of the academic year you might be thinking about sending families the downloadable copy of their child’s Tapestry journal. You could also let them know that their PDF journals can now be turned into beautiful printed books! Relatives can order these directly from within Tapestry after you generate the PDF for them. But you can also order printed journals on behalf of your relatives in bulk! For more information, please visit the feature page. iOS App Update We’ve rolled out a couple of updates to the iOS app in the past few weeks. These brought several changes, but the most notable are that the Care Diary and Register are now available on the iOS app! These new areas should both appear on the bottom task bar within the app. Please ensure you’re using the most up-to-date version of the app via the AppStore and keep an eye out there for further improvements. Survey Results The results are in! Thank you to everyone who took the time to participate in our survey this year. As always, the findings are an interesting insight into the sector – this time focusing on the expanded offer for two year olds, advice to the next government, and how we make and use observations. We have prepared a blog post discussing some of the findings which you can read here. New CPD Course: An Introduction to Educator Wellbeing We have another new CPD course this month. Created by early years educator Kate Moxley, this course has been created to support and promote awareness of wellbeing and positive mental health for educators. Access the full course here. An article from Tapestry’s education team Ben, from our education team, has recently written an article for Nursery World reflecting on how early years educators can ensure collective events and celebrations are inclusive for all children and families. You can read the article here. The Inclusive Early Years Educator: A Reflective Toolkit This new book, written by Early Years Inclusion Officer at Doncaster Council, Ann Lowe, and Tapestry’s SEND Advisor Stephen Kilgour, encourages us to change our mindset when it comes to children with learning differences and disabilities, considering areas where our provision needs adjustment and guiding us to strive to be truly inclusive. The book: Provides a holistic picture of a child’s learning, considering an array of reflective opportunities, while always keeping the child at the centre of our thoughts. Includes a wealth of real-life case studies and worked examples. Features a diverse range of contributions from early years professionals as well as the voices of parents. Contains printable forms to encourage and consolidate reflections throughout the book. Is full of signposting and links to further resources and reading, making it an essential guide for the early years. It’s now available for pre-order and comes out on July 11th. Pre order your copy here.
  4. Hi, @Harris72 Thanks for getting in touch. You should still be able to do it. You just need to hold your finger down on the selected image for a couple of seconds. This will allow you to then select multiple images to upload. I hope that helps! Best wishes, Jack Tapestry Support Team
  5. Hello and welcome to our June newsletter If you’re considering using Tapestry Online Learning Journal but aren’t yet a customer, take a look at how it can help you transform learning outcomes for children in EYFS right through to Year 6 - click a link below: I work in an early years setting I lead a Nursery Chain I work in a school If you’re already a customer, read on for our latest news and updates, including: Reminder: Printed Journals Now Available New Articles to Support Your CPD A New “Beginner’s Guide” Last chance to complete our 2024 survey We hope you enjoy catching up on our news, and we always welcome your feedback. Best wishes, The Tapestry Team Printed Journals Now Available You may have seen that we’ve recently teamed up with Group Hugs to start offering a service which turns your children’s PDF journals into beautiful printed books. After listening to some questions and feedback, we’ve compiled a few bits of advice to help you get the most from this service: Make sure to export journals from the Control Panel. If you're not sure how, this guide will show you all the steps. By default, the PDF export will include a cover page, a contents page, and observations will run one after each other (the option is called 'split across pages'). We recommend leaving those as they are. You can make the books even more special by adding a profile picture for the child (and including the cover page when generating the PDF) and by adding your school/setting logo. Doing this will mean the child's photo appears on the front cover of the book and your logo will appear in the top right-hand corner of each page, instead of the Tapestry logo. Lastly, we’d recommend reminding parents to download the PDF to their computer/device even if they do buy the printed journal as well. More information on Printed Journals, as well as some FAQs, can be found on this page. New Articles to Support Your CPD We have two new articles this month: Anya, from our Education Team, attended the MHFA England, Adult, Mental Health First Aid (MHFAider®) course, delivered by Kate Moxley, who is an Instructor Member and the founder of Wellness for All. Here, Anya reflects on some key things she learned from the course. And manny, Joss Cambridge-Simmons, reflects on the importance of being present for children, how presence equals love, and how to cultivate a feeling of safety. A New “Beginner’s Guide” The free document ‘A Beginner’s Guide to Islam’ has been written by Suma Din to help childminders, nurseries and schools have a better understanding of Islam. Last chance to complete the 2024 Tapestry Survey Just a reminder to complete the Tapestry Survey if you haven’t already! The survey is for everyone working in the early years and primary education sectors. We’d love to hear from you on topics such as the expanded offer for two-year-olds, how educators are using AI, and proposed Labour early years and education policies. The survey should take 5-8 minutes to complete, and it closes on 7th June. To take part, please follow this link.

The Tapestry Survey Get your voice heard – Tapestry 2024 survey Our annual survey is now live and is for everyone working in the early years and primary education sectors. 7. In this tutorial we’re going to look at how to export your relative’s details from Tapestry. Doing this will provide you with either a PDF or CSV file showing all your relative’s details which include: names, emails, phone numbers, collection passwords and linked children. First, click your name in the top right and then select Control Panel. Within Control Panel, select Manage Relatives from the menu on the left and then scroll to the bottom of this page. At the bottom you will see two options for exporting your relative’s details: export as a PDF and export as a CSV. Clicking either of these will automatically start downloading in your preferred format. The CSV format will look something like this: And the PDF will look something like this: Back to Main Tutorials Page
  8. Hi there. I'm just getting in touch to let you know you can now add a "collection password" to a relative's account! You'll see the box when adding any new relative, but you can also add one for existing relatives by clicking "edit" next to their name on the Manage Relatives screen. The collection passwords for all relatives can be viewed by exporting your relative's details. Just scroll down to the bottom of Manage Relatives and you'll see two options for exporting the list. We are also making some changes to how you navigate Tapestry soon, and the collection password will be made more visible after we do so. Would you like me to contact you again when those navigation changes occur? I look forward to hearing from you soon :)

  10. Hi, Nicola. Thanks for your question. We are currently working on a Summative Assessment screen which will be compatible with your bespoke frameworks. Would you like us to update you directly when that comes out? I appreciate you may have added your bespoke framework for a specific reason but just so you know we do have as assessment framework for the new ELGs already. It's called ELG 2021 and you can enable it from Control Panel > Settings > Assessments. This frameworks feeds directly into the EYFSP screen which can be accessed from Tracking > ELG 2021. If it's the new EYFS framework you mean, then you can read more about how we've incorporated that into Tapestry in these guides: Setting up EYFS 2021 Using the new EYFS 2021 framework I hope that helps! Let me know if you need anything else :)

Best wishes, The Tapestry Team New Tapestry Feature – Staff Register We are happy to announce another new feature in our management system! Alongside the register for children, we now have an online Staff Register. This register lets your team members sign themselves and their colleagues in and out. Some of the key functionality includes: Order the staff list by first or last name. Record notes and edit or delete in/out times as needed. Click on a staff member’s name to see their registration history for the day - when they were signed in and out and by whom. View any edits to sign in/out times in your History section. The history entry will include the original time. Like all our existing features, the Staff Register is available for free to all Tapestry customers. Improvements to the Booking Feature In addition to the above, we’ve also made some smaller improvements to parts of the management system. Firstly, you can now send payment reminders to bill payers: we’ve added the ability to send a short message from Tapestry telling them how much is owed and how to pay it. You’ll find a button to do this on a child’s “Finance” tab. Secondly, we’ve made it easier for you to see exactly how many unpaid and unsent invoices there are on your account. Just go to Finance -> Invoices and you’ll see the tabs at the top.
