Recognising numbers to 12 suggests using a clock face or digital timer/clock perhaps making appointment times for the doctor?

This is my LA guidance
"Creates simple representations of events, people and objects and engages in music making.
For example:
• remarks that 'this material is my prickly hedgehog'
• sings familiar songs or taps out repeated rhymes
• uses props to support role-play, e.g. large blocks and boxes to create an airport
• squirms along the floor, pretending to be a snake"

Yo, Hungry Wolf! A Nursery Rap by David Vozar or
http://songsforteaching.com/jimrule/3littlepigsrap.htm
Now everybody knows about the little pigs three
But this time it goes a little differently.
You see I made a couple changes. I set it all to rhyme.
Let’s begin our story,” Once Upon A Time...”
THREE LITTLE PIGS were living large and at home
Til the day mom said, “Yo! I want to be alone!”
Go build your own houses now that you are big.
It’s time for each of you to be an independent pig.”
She told her little piggies, “I think I’d better warn ya......"
The first little pig built a house made of straw.
He didn’t use a hammer and he didn’t use a saw.
He finished in a hurry and he laughed”,HA, HA!
I’m done! I’m done! Now I’ll go and have some fun!”
The second little pig built a house made of twigs......
The third little pig built a house made of bricks .......
Now the piggies all knew never talk to strangers.......
“HOWL! I’m the Big Bad Wolf and I’ve come to town.......
He walked up to the door of piggy number one.......
“Little pig, Little pig, let me come in.”
“Not by the hair of my chinny-chin-chin”
“Then I’ll huff and I’ll puff and I’ll blow your house down.
I’m the Big Bad Wolf and I don’t mess around.”
So he blew down the straw house in one big breath.......
“Little pig, Little pig......"
So he blew down the twig house in one big breath.......
“Little pig, Little pig......"
But the strong brick house stayed right where it stood.......
Well, he went down the chimney but the piggies really got him.......
He jumped right out the chimney and ran so far away
That nobody’s seen that wolf to this very day.
And the little pigs were famous every where they went
But the third little pig still charged her brothers rent.
I told you she was smart. And now you know the story of
THE THREE LITTLE PIGS Oink! Oink! Oink! Bye Bye!

Lots here.I took my daughter into work this morning and slid most of the way there. Nothing moving off my estate now and more forecast!

Congratulations
Enjoy your pregnancy, relax and rest when your body tells you.
I think current advice is that mothers who avoid nuts in pregnancy run a greater risk of their child having nut allergies.
Beau your cravings were much healthier than mine. With my daughter I "lived on" sports mixture" sweets

No there are no differentials between different keys stages pay scales depend upon experience and responsibility. There are however more opportunities in secondary schools to progress than in most primaries.
-
There are alternatives to Maths GCSE out there lots of ACCESS courses offer qualifications which are recognised I suggest contacting your local college. My friend did her exam on line at college and found it less scary. Take a look at http://www.move-on.org.uk/ which as some test papers you can do on line. Good Luck

But should there be differentials when we are all interdependent on each other?
-
Sorry I didn't make myself clear Maz but my point there was that the poster thinks the older the child the more the "teacher" should be paid as their job is more difficult. So from that theory it would follow that those working with the youngest children be paid less? Personally I value highly the dedication of pre school practitioners who's hard work makes my life so much easier and wish there was some way that this could be acknowledged (financially). Unfortunately the cynic in me worries that EYPS will be used to keep childcare costs low as many already many CC practitioners are being employed on different pay and conditions to teachers while doing the same job.
-
Child Initiated Learning requires the child
deciding where to go
what to do (within the boundaries set)
what to use
who to work with (if anyone)
how long to be there (within the boundaries if the day)
It is NOT Child Initiated Learning when adults
set the agenda
send children to particular areas
organise groups to work together
limit the time they can spend at their chosen area
rotate groups round provision.
Hope that helps

The CWDC also that EYPS will be clarified in September with the launch of EYFS so watch this space.
The government promised parent "affordable high quality" childcare which I'm afraid this is going to reflect how much settings can charge and consequently how much practitioners are paid.
Maz you say you wouldn't expect the same pay as teacher but in effect you are performing a very similar role. There is currently a thread on TES "should secondary teachers be paid more than primary teachers?" Makes you think?
-
Hi Rainbowbrite and welcome to the forum.
The guidance over pay on the CWDC site is that pay is up to each individual setting and that there won't (at the moment ) be a set salary. Not very helpful sorry.
Q: If EYP status is equivalent to Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), does this mean that pay and conditions will be the same as for teachers?
A: EYPS and QTS are both professional statuses - but they are not the same. Consequently employers may set the same or they may set different pay and conditions for the two groups of employees. It is worth noting that pay and conditions are matters for employers rather than the CWDC.

just to add a qualified teacher's wage starts at 20K and I need even more arms Maz as my ratio will remain at 1-30... crazy isn't it?
