  1. Yes I know this but would like the data generated form the assessments I make as part of observations to be linked rather than having to do them separately. It just seems a bit daft to be assessing as part of observations and then having to do a separate one to send in to county.  Arethere any plans to link them?

  2. Are there any plans to include the EYFSP assessment in Tapestry.  This half term I am looking at the ELG statements in preparation so a lot of my assessments are based on the ELG emerging, developing, secure options. It would be extremely helpful if these were emerging, expected, exceeding to link with what we have to do anyway.  If this could feed into the EYFSP transfer section it would save so much time as this has to be done separately currently.

  3. Hi Lauren,

We would like to extend tapestry into Y2 next year and gradually stop using target tracker. What we need to be able to do is track the children's progress so anything that could help us with that would be great. I would imagine for our KS1 teachers it would be useful to be able to look at progress from term to term, especially with Lit and Maths. I will have a chat with them and ask them if they have any other specific things they would like... ::1a

  4. Any news on this? I am running a training session for heads in our local group and would like to be able to give them some info on this. At the moment are Y1s are using tapestry and also target tracker and it would be great to have to option to move to just using tapestry. Thanks.

  5. Hi

I was lucky enough to attend the Early Excellence EYFS conference yesterday. As part of this conference they told us about the hundred review. This is following on from the likelihood of a complete review of EYFS based on some of the things written in the report Effective Teaching Practice in Primary Schools. Some of the ideas considered to be effective are very alarming to me! For example, suggesting that the most effective Reception classes are those that bring elements of Year 1 into their practice... Anyway definitely worth reading the report but if you would like to be part of research that is based on what actual practitioners see as effective go to the Early Excellence website and sign up. They need as many people as possible to do this in order for anyone to actually take on board what is said. I, for one will be taking a stand!

  7. Hi

I have a new child who started yesterday. She already has a tapestry account with her old school. i know how long it can take to organise transferring as I have done it before... If I set her up a new account with us while we wait will I be able to merge the two accounts or do i need to wait...

  8. Hi

Have used Tapestry to input my Baselines for my new cohort. Is there a way to include this in the analysis section so that it is the starting point for tracking? Also the analysis section doesn't give the option of looking just at baseline scores. is there a way of doing this?

  9. We are currently using tapestry for all of our assessment and tracking in EYFS. Y1 are also using tapestry but additionally using Target Tracker to record tracking info. After this year we may wish to roll out tapestry for tracking into KS1 but there is no analysis option for KS1 currently. Is this something you are planning to add in the future? If so, what sort of time frame would this happen in?

  10. We are just finishing the same topic! We have created a dark cave in the role play area with mirrors and torches for the children to explore. We linked to light and dark and also watched a short clip called the lighthouse (on the website The Literacy shed). We had lots of discussion about what might happen and worked with talk partners . Adults scribed the childrens ideas. The children did some chalk and pastel pictures of lighthouses. The children also looked for things which give us light in catalogues and magazines for cutting and sticking. Lots of work on sizes - little bear, big bear, lanterns etc. We also made and decorated paper lanterns. The children all cut out and decorated a star for the outside of the role play area too. it's a lovely topic and the children have thoroughly enjoyed it...

    Hope that helps.
