I am moving to Year 2 in September having worked in the foundation stage for 10 years. This web site has been fantastic and given me so many wonderful ideas. I was hoping somebody out there would know if there are any useful websites that help with Year 2 planning/topics etc. Any help would be much appreciated, thanks

I have just spent a year in year 2. I'm back in reception in September, Yipee!!! That is where my heart is. I'm glad I spent the year in year 2 though. I feel it has made me a better teacher!!! The sites I have found useful are

http://www.hamilton-trust.org.uk/index.asp?id=1

This is good for maths planning (free) You have to subscribe for other planning. Not too expensive though.

http://www.primaryresources.co.uk/index.htm (is a useful site)

others are

http://www.topmarks.co.uk/Interactive.aspx?s=maths&a=ks1 (interactive whiteboard resources)

http://www.sebastianswan.org.uk/index.html (some good interactive books useful for science)

http://www.wirral-mbc.gov.uk/maths/Merseys...Plans/index.asp (maths unit plans)

Hope the links work :o

I am also going to year 2 in september and feel very strange about it! I really want to take the best of the foudation stage with me and approach year 2 in a creative way, planning to the FS 6 areas of learning and working in cross curricular ways, perhaps we could have a dedicated area for us FS traitors who have crossed the line, but want to promote the best of early years practice, even in upper KS1!? PLEASE?

I teach a mixed Reception - Year 2 class and use www.clickteaching.com all the time. I dont use the planning as much but it is a fantastic resource site. You are able to select your subject and topic and it has loads of downloadable resources you can use that can save you a lot of time.

As a bonus all of the resources are available in word format so you can edit and ammend them if you wish.

You have to pay a yearly fee but it has been well worth it for me.

Good luck in the new job.
