Evaluating Plans

We always link our evaluations of plans to the learning objective stated for each planned activity - what do you want the children to learn?.........did the children learn what you intended? Then you can think about how successful the activity was for different children, how their learning needs to be consolidated/extended/developed according to individual learning needs and link the evaluation to your observations. We also make quick notes about the practicalities of the activity - did we make best use of resources, would we change anything, etc.etc.

 

Not reams and reams of writing though, I think the important thing to remember is that these evaluations are for OUR benefit and we shoudn't spend time writing anything that we're never going to refer to again.
