Guest
How often do you hold in-house moderation meetings? Who is involved? How often do you hold such meetings? Do you focus on one particular area or scale point? Sorry for the list of questions, but just wondering what everyone else does. I'm a bit worried that we're not doing enough. At present myself and nursery nurse get together and informally discuss profiles/particular children, but I'm sure we should be doing something more formal and involving others - eg. assessment co-ordinator. We don't get any staff meeting time, so this tends to be grabbed dinner times.
Marion
We work much the same although we do get staff meeting time every half term.
mundia
we get together as a team of class teachers and coordinator 3 times per year, using a print out of the sumray sheet to date of the eprofile, and look at scores across the classes. We find this really useful as we dont have a stable staff, so always have someone new and less experincede on board. We tend to look at major differnces in one area or particular high or ow scores. We discuss specific points or scales as it comes up. We started to do this because we felt that there were too many major discrepancies between classes than there should have been given that most of the children came through our nursery, and everyone seems to find it quite helpful.
