Layered Curricular Targets For Reception & Y1

Hi, I am supporting an ISP school and they have set their maths layered target as "multiplication". I am working with Foundation Stage and Y1 on appropriate targets to feed into the main school target. Anyone got any ideas?

Counting in 2s 5s and 10s?

I used Noah's Ark for counting in 2s last year.

Making groups of 2's 5's 10's. making patterns of 2's with beads, bricks. printing, so the repeated element can be seen,and say 2 more,2 more

chant 2,4,6,8 who do we appreciate

Haven't got my ISP stuff at home but if you email me i'll be able to send from work - can't access forum there so have to do it outside. I've got layered targets for all aspects within ISP. (Work in many ISP schools in my LA) Probably Monday, tuesday at latest as am in the office then.

Had a think about this and I wouldn't be suggesting targets for multiplication as this is not an element of the FS curriculum guidance and therefore not part of the FS curriculum. (See guidance for curricular targets from primary strategy here)

 

I would be loking at the strands of the FSP outcomes in maths that need attention and layering from there or possibly using calculation.
