sharonash
Hi Ive been notified by a parent that their child has Scarlet fever, I left a message last week for someone from the Environmental Health dept to call me back as I understand this is a notifiable disease? They havent done so I will try again tomorrow This is the first time I have had to deal with anything like this. has anyone experienced this if so can anyone give me some advise on what I should be doing? Thanks
Guest
we had a couple of cases about a year ago, i like you tried to contact environmental health but got nowhere. In the end i put a notice up informing parents and letting them know what the symptoms are, we never had anymore cases after that.
hali
if you have contacted EH and warned parents i would say that is sufficient.

Guest
You also have to inform Ofsted of any notifiable disease too. NHS direct may be a point of reference either by phone or internet, to get info for parents should they ask. I don't know much about the illness myself, how is the child, is he/she recovering ok?
