sharonash Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 Hi Ive been notified by a parent that their child has Scarlet fever, I left a message last week for someone from the Environmental Health dept to call me back as I understand this is a notifiable disease? They havent done so I will try again tomorrow This is the first time I have had to deal with anything like this. has anyone experienced this if so can anyone give me some advise on what I should be doing? Thanks Quote
Guest Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 we had a couple of cases about a year ago, i like you tried to contact environmental health but got nowhere. In the end i put a notice up informing parents and letting them know what the symptoms are, we never had anymore cases after that. Quote
hali Posted November 8, 2006 Posted November 8, 2006 if you have contacted EH and warned parents i would say that is sufficient. Quote
Guest Posted November 9, 2006 Posted November 9, 2006 You also have to inform Ofsted of any notifiable disease too. NHS direct may be a point of reference either by phone or internet, to get info for parents should they ask. I don't know much about the illness myself, how is the child, is he/she recovering ok?
