Guest Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 i posted a while ago about the new f/s manager i have who has no early years experience and to say it unproffesionally i know but she is rubbish. she does not know what the stepping stones are, she says they just play all day, no activities to support learning through play, they just play with the construction or train set. she now sneaks into my room and steals my planning and assessements. even worse when we had ofsted she said i must have a copy of your planning as i am your manager and she claimed it was her planning when ofsted wanted it. what can i do it has got to the stage now that i want to give up teaching beacuse of her. i love the school and dont want to change. should i see my head teacher or what how can i do this proffessionally. really need your help. Susan Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Oh Clare, big hugs! I have to admit I dont know what the answer to this one is, except that you need to tell someone in school how unhappy you feel and try and resolve the issues or move on. I am confused as to how your assessments can be of use to anyone else though, unless she changes names? Surely she will be giving herself away at some stage? Do you not plan together? How well do you get on with your head or the deputy? Is there anyone else on SMT that you could talk to? What about your union? Is there a rep in school? Go higher if necessary. Talk to our head and tell him/her that you are thinking of seeking union advice, that should indicate that you are serious about this. Write down your points first and stick to them Good luck. Quote
hali Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 i totally agree with Susan, you must speak to somebody about this, its just terrible...good luck hun Quote
Guest Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 thanks, my head is quite approachable so i think i will have have to take the bull by the horns and tell him. i really dont understand why she needs my assessements , all i know is that i have caught her looking at where my children are and she changes her levels of the children depending on mine. for example i have a very bright child, knows all sounds and is reading independently, well this child as achieved most of the elgs, the manager had assessed most of her children achieving them until she saw my child had and her children were not at that level so she changed them. hope that makes sense, fact is she does not know what she is doing or where the children are at so she copies me. as foe planning we used to plan together but is was always me doing the planning, she never contributed so i said i would no longer do it with her, nbow she just photocopies them and tries teaching from them but my planning is based on where my children are at so her struggle to access it. aaarrrrrrrrrrrr this is hell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1 Quote
Susan Posted October 10, 2006 Posted October 10, 2006 Well Clare it certainly sounds as if you know where your children are and what you are doing, what you describe sounds appropriate. As this is making you so unhappy, it sounds as if it is not the workplace but the situation, you must try and talk to your head asap or you are endangering your own long term health. Print this thread out and show him it for starters? Let us know how you get on. Quote
