Hi, i am currently carrying out some research on effective teaching and learning and at present i am focusing on the role of the teacher. I was hoping that people could share their views on 'the characteristics of a good teacher' or their own philosopy of teaching as these are areas of particular interest. Thanks!!!!!!!!!!x

Just a quick thought - are you familiar with the SPEEL research which was published last year?

 

It basically sets out the range of competencies, values, beliefs and characteristics that the (Early Years professional) interviewees considered constituted best early years practice for their profession. If you haven't seen it we summarised it in an article which you can find here.
