Guest Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 I used to think of myself as a bit of a perfectionist, & I would beat myself up about stuff for no good reason. I've mellowed with age, I think, like a good wine. I came across this the other day & found it helpful. I concluded I would much rather go for excellence than perfection. I hope you'll find it as helpful as I did! Excellence is willing to be wrong. Perfection is being right. Excellence is risk. Perfection is fear. Excellence is powerful. Perfection is anger and frustration. Excellence is spontaneous. Perfection is control. Excellence is accepting. Perfection is judgement. Excellence is giving. Perfection is taking. Excellence is confidence. Perfection is doubt. Excellence is flowing. Perfection is pressure. Excellence is journey. Perfection is destination. Quote
Guest Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 Thanks for that Weightman, I'll never call myself a perfectionist again, I don't like what it says about me. Here's to excellence or at least ( or is it 'at most') I'll do the best I can. Peggy Quote
Guest Posted June 27, 2006 Posted June 27, 2006 That's a good comparison, sometimes I seek perfection, but rarely ever achieve it, sometimes I strive for perfection but rarely every achieve it and sometimes I have to accept that I will never ever be perfect or excellent. Nikki Quote
