Appeal System

One of our preschool families is appealing for a place in the school of their choice. The father asked me today what sort of questions the panel were likely to ask. Not having been through the system I don't know. Any suggestions?

I would have thought that the chance of a successful appeal would be slim unless there are over-arching circumstances, such as a statemented child with full- time support, or if the parents can prove that the admissions procedures were not followed correctly. Infant schools have a maximum legal class size of 30 and are not allowed to exceed this under normal circumstances.

We think the chances are slim too but they were not offered a place at any of the 3 schools on their application and refuse to send her to the one they were offered.
