I am a Reception class teacher and my Nursery Nurse is leaving in July. Interviews for a new one are going to be next week and my head has asked if I want to be involved in the process. Can anyone think of some important things to ask?

Many Thanks

Katie

HI I AM A NURSERY NURSE ANDI HAD AN INTERVIEW A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO

THE TEACHER ON THE PANEL ASKED A GOOD QUESTION (WELL TWO ACTUALLY)

1- WHAT DO YOU EXPECT CHILDREN TO HAVE ACHIEVED BY THE TIME THEY LEAVE THE EARLY YEARS UNIT (RECEPTION YEAR)

WHICH OF THE SIX AREAS OF LEARNING ARE THE MOST IMPORTANT AND WHY.

HOPE THIS HELPS :)

The main thing is to look through the Person Specification for the post, and ask questions that relate to each of the criteria, other wise you have do not have any other measures than the application form, as to whether they match the criteria.

Other good questions are things like:

What you would like visitors to see if they looked round the classroom?

What is your vision as nursery nurse for this class? etc.

Hope you find someone great,

Shelley
