Sen Allowance

Hi,

Just wondering how the SEN allowance pay scale worked. I know I get extra but are there different levels of SEN allowance? and if so how does this work? is it based on the amount of experience you have had or on the severity of the pupils you are working with?

thanks

Jo

Hi,

There are 2 SEN points available as an addition to your main scale salary. These awarded by the governors based on experience. I have 1 point, most in school have 2. Hope that helps.

The actual amounts go up each year. The info I've just got from my union is below. The 1st figure is current, the 2nd in each list is from September 2006 and the 3rd from September 2007.

Current

Special needs 1

£1,773

Special needs 2

£3,687
