Sue R
Shirel, That's lovely. It's sad that two families have had to go through this black time, but it's good to see something positive emerging, isn't it? Thanks for sharing that Sue
Guest
Shirel, What a lovely story, despite it having sad times too. How lovely that the little boy could see the good side of it.
Guest
A few years ago one of the 4 year old girls came into nursery having just returned from a caravan holiday. She greeted us with "When we were in the caravan, Daddy wore mummy's bra". She was followed into nursery by the most embarassed looking daddy I have ever seen!!! About a week later when daddy brought her again (bearing in mind he'd not made eye contact with any of us for the week) I couldn't resist and said, 'We're still waiting for your side of the story you know!'. Seemed to break the ice again and eye contact was restored!!! Lucy x
Rea
During last weeks awful weather, we were in the playground and a few children kept opening the door to the nursery. The staff kept asking/telling the children to keep the door shut to keep the heat in. Over and over we said it, until one lad, known for his frank speech shouted across the playground 'Shut the f***ing door'. I just stopped myself from laughing long enough to hug him and say 'thanks for your help mate, but I'll take over now'

Magenta
We have a lot of EAL chn., we try to learn some basic vocabulary which the children think is really funny. We were doing a topic on our local environment and so asked a child what 'shop' was in their home language, he promptly replied 'Kwik Save'!
