Emma Bailey_902595195 Posted January 26, 2023 Posted January 26, 2023 Hello all Would anybody be willing to share some ideas of how your snack times work in your settings please? We have 2~4 year olds. What foods do you have? How do you serve the foods? Are the children involved in the preparation etc Thank you in advance Quote
louby loo Posted January 27, 2023 Posted January 27, 2023 We are a sessional preschool, so you may be different if full daycare. We have scaled our snack right back to basics. We literlally just have fruit and breasticks, milk or water each day. Initially we cut down due to a child with servere allergies- then covid struck, prices started to rise- so to be honest with just stuck with simple. Children do help but with such a limited snack now there's not really much they can do other than hlep themselves- get there own cups and plates, pour drinks etc. There seems to be so many bugs going around I dont really want the children coughing and splutterring during the very basic food prep🤢 1 Quote
Helen Posted January 31, 2023 Posted January 31, 2023 We used to provide toast and crumpets and fruit- with 20 children 2-4 all sitting at 3 small tables with an adult at each. Children may have baked something that morning that we share, but generally, an adult prepared the food and children helped to serve it. 1 Quote
