Sumzy Posted November 22, 2018 Share Posted November 22, 2018 Hi I am aware that in the EYFS statutory requirement it says ' when assessing communication, Language and literacy skills, practitioners must assess children's skills in English'; I just wanted to have some idea how settings go about this as we have several children who are very fluent in their home language but struggle when speaking in English. Also with regards to understanding their understanding in their home language is very good yet they won't understand properly in English.
