SelinaD
We have recently begun to use Tapestry across KS1. How do we track progress please?
OlayaTapestrySupport
Hi SelinaD, Welcome to the forum! There are various ways you can track your children's development for KS1. As you have probably seen already, as part of the KS1 and KS2 frameworks, you will set a tier system of attainment which will help you to compare each child/group's attainment with the national average and with where you're expecting them to be at the end of the year (we call that the Maintained Achievement Point, or MAP for short). Once you have started assessing your children, one of the most important screens you might want to take a look at is the Summative Assessment screen. This screen will show you the attainment of your children over the time they have been with you. You can look at individuals and at the whole class. You can look at subjects separately or overview the whole curriculum. As you continue adding data for various assessment periods, you will be able to see the summative assessment scores throughout all the periods for that academic year for every single statement side by side. There are also four analysis screens that will help you interpret your data: the attainment screen, the achievement screen, the coverage screen and the absence screen. The attainment screen: you will be able to compare each child’s MAP score to their attainment score of the selected period. You will also be able to see the percentage of children who have an attainment that is below, at, or above their MAP. The achievement screen: here you can see each child's most recent five period scores and compare them to each other and the child's MAP. It will also show you the percentage of children in each tier for the current period. The coverage screen: you will be able to see the percentage of statements taught and the number of statements covered for each child at or before the selected period. Likewise, you will be able to see the percentage of statements taught to at leas one child at or before the selected period. The absence screen: this screen shows how absence is affecting each child. It will also help you identify the percentage of children with at least one absence mark in the selected period. I would recommend having a look through our tutorials page here; they have been divided into sections which will help you find the most relevant/applicable tutorial! Tutorials 85-89 cover everything you need to know about tracking with KS1! Best wishes, Olaya
