EmilyTapestrySupport
Hi Weavers, We just wanted to write this post to make you aware of a change to the baseline assessments that went live on Tapestry last week. To explain, previously on Tapestry if you ‘locked’ a child’s baseline it prevented any manual overrides being made unless the baseline was then unlocked, but any assessments that were added in observations after it was locked, did still contribute towards the score. We felt that this should be changed so that ‘locking’ a baseline meant that the values do not change if you add any further observations within the baseline period. So, last week this change went live which means that now when you lock a baseline, or any other snapshot on Tapestry, the scores you see will be saved even if you add more assessments in observations that would contribute towards the scores. As this was a change in what locking the baseline meant, any baselines that were previously locked will now show as unlocked. All the values you see will still be the same though. If you are happy that the scores you see represent where the child is within their baseline period you can now lock the baselines again. We are sorry if this causes you any inconvenience. If you have any questions about this please leave them below or alternatively you can email us at customer.service@eyfs.info.
Sarah_Church
Hi, Is there a way to lock groups of children if we are happy with their baselines? Thanks
FSFRebecca
Hello, You can only lock baselines individually at the moment. We have been asked previously about the ability to do this in bulk, and it is something we are looking at. However, at the moment it's one by one. Sorry not to be the bearer of better news! Sarah_Church
Hi again, Thank you for the answer. Another quick one...is there a way to set the baseline dates? For example from entry to setting to 6 weeks later as they all seem to be from entry to 4 weeks later unless manually (individually) changed. Thanks Sarah
EmilyTapestrySupport
Hi Sarah, I'm afraid it's not possible to set the baseline dates for groups of children either, this is something you will need to do individually. This is on our list of things to add to Tapestry though and we will keep you updated about any changes to this as well! Best wishes, Emily
bry1973
Once baseline is completed and locked can it still be changed if observations include assessments during the period set? My baselines were locked but I can see they have all changed slightly...
bry1973
Also with the new GLD section why are we not able to select baseline as our starting point? Is that something that might be added at some point?
EmilyTapestrySupport
Hi bry1973, Once the baseline is locked this should not change unless someone goes in, unlocks it and either manually changes something or when unlocking it, selects the option 'Use Tapestry's latest estimates'. Have you noticed your baseline assessments changing? If so, could you send in a support ticket by emailing customer.service@eyfs.info. Regarding the GLD screen I will bring this up as a discussion point with the rest of the team. Best wishes, Emily
